Legacy ID is a modern progressive metal band from Riga, Latvia.

Formed in February of 2013, the band consists of guitar player

Artis Apinis, guitar player Agris Siksna, guitar player Reinis Rijnieks, vocalist Andis Jekabsons, drummer Ivars Logins.

 

Genre; Legacy ID is considered a modern progressive metal band. Different influences (varying from death metal, heavy metal, djent, trash metal to progressive rock/metal, nu metal, hard rock, funk, alternative) allow Legacy ID to take the best of everything to create their distinctive sound and progressive arrangements. Melodic, yet heavy riffs; technical grooves mixing with powerful speed; strong lead vocals and deep lyrics – the best of all rock music in one package.

 

A brief history; Artis and Ivars have been co-writing and performing together for more than a decade, but coming from a small town, they could not find fellow musicians, with whom to form a complete band. Whilst in search for the “right” comrades, several band members had changed. The current front man Andis (also, acting band manager) joined the band in the end of 2012, bringing a lot of experience and whole new dimension to the live performances.

The expertise and experience of Agris Siksna has been a great tribute to band's sound and quality, inside the studio as well as on the live stage.

The latest addition to the Legacy ID team was guitar player Reinis Rijnieks. Also, a very experienced and skilled musician.

In a short period of time, Legacy ID has played live shows in some of the biggest heavy rock music venues of Latvia, earning a reputation of high quality live performance, strong stage presence, an overall - very talented and driven group of musicians.

Legacy ID was a relatively newborn band, only a few shows and one record old, when it entered the Latvia’s contest against many well-known and established Latvian bands, for the chance to perform at the international metal music festival “Wacken Open Air” in Germany. The band went to Latvian finals, surprising not only the listeners, but also the other contestants, as well as the organizers.

 

On June 15th 2014, Legacy ID released their debut album “Genesis”. 

 

At the Latvian Metal Music Awards, Legacy ID received the "Debut of the year 2014" Award.

 

Currently, the band is preparing for upcoming confirmed shows, writing new material and planning a tour.
